- General Questions
- How can I get in shape for surfing without
actually surfing? By replicating and repeating as closely as possible the movements associated with surfing on an unstable
surface.
- What movements would those be? Most of surfing is paddling, duckdiving, transitioning to standup, transitions
from bottom turns to off the tops, cutting back, and stalling in the tube. Therefore our training will focus on those same
skills in the same ratio.
- Does it matter if I longboard or shortboard? No.
- How many times a week should
I come? If you're planning for a specific trip, at least 3 times a week up until you leave. For general training to stay in
shape for surfing, the frequency is up to you, but at least once a week is advisable.
- If I'm planning a trip how
far in advance should I start training? The longer you can prepare the better, but at least 6 weeks. However any training
you can fit in is better than nothing.
